How Tollywood Directors Judge A Song

on Jul 29, 2015

In the recent times, the song “Em Sandeham Ledu” is a super hit. This song is from Srinivas Avasarala’s debut flick “Oohalu Gusagusalade”. Recently the very same song has won a horde of awards for its tune, male and female voices and even lyrics. Expressing his feelings, Kalyani Koduri, the composer revealed an interesting backstory behind the song.

He stated that this tune was composed for Krishna Vamsi’s Mogudu film, but he rejected it. Later this music director walked out of the flick due to creative differences with Vamsi. It was the Srinivas Avasarala who saw the potential in that tune and okayed for Oohalu Gusagusalade while Ananth Sreeram’s lyrics have contributed immensely. And the rest is history.

This brings us to the spotlight, on what basis Tollywood directors judge songs? Just they will listen it, feel the pulse like any common audience and then decide. It maybe called as pure luck and sheen if one has to pick super hit songs all the time.
