The command which Super Star Rajinikanth has on his fan's hearts is unimaginable. His movie Kabali was the toast of the season even before it released and with the movie making big money, its an icing on the cake for his followers. Recently people started talking about how the Demi God should be honored with India's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna. Now the support for the award to be given to him is just growing by the day. BJP MLA Anil Gote suggested Maharashtra government that the actor be bestowed with state’s highest honor, ‘Maharashtra Bhushan’. While proposing this in Lok Sabha, Gote also added that the Assembly should pass a resolution asking the Central govt to consider giving him ‘Bharat Ratna’.
Calling Rajinikanth the "Son of the Soil", Gote said that considering Thalaivar's position in the industry, he is equivalent to a demi-god. He also added that Kabali's release in a record 8,000 screens worldwide is proof enough that his stature in Indian cinema is unparalleled. Kabali collected more than Rs 48 cr, surpassing all records in India to become the highest grossing film.
