Bruce Lee Telugu Movie Review

on Oct 16, 2015

Bruce Lee review, Bruce Lee Movie review, Bruce Lee Telugu Movie review......"Bruce Lee" has stunned everyone by creating a record of sorts as this is the first film in the recent times which hasn't missed out the announced release date. Also the film is made in 5 months time, which is another high point for a big budgeted big star film. Let's see how the film is.

The CONTENT:

Karthik (Ram Charan) is a stuntman by profession whose screen name is Bruce Lee, and he cares for his sister (Kriti Kharbanda) more than anything. He strives to make his father Ram Chandra Rao's (Rao Ramesh) ambition of making her an IAS officer. Industrialist Jayaraj (Sampath) and his wife Vasundara (Nadiya) decided to make Ramchandra Rao's daughter as their daughter-in-law. Trouble arises when a big goon Deepak Raj (Arul Vijaykumar) sets up Karthik's sister in a case. At the same time, Karthik falls in love with Riya (Rakul), a game designer, and she accidentally sets up Karthik with villains. What happens there after is rest of story.

The EFFORT:

On-Screen:

Ram Charan is good in dancing and action sequences, but acting wise still he has to work out at some places. Otherwise he did a superb job in comedy scenes and romancing the heroine. Also his split-personality kind of acting in pre-climax has stunned.

Rakul Preet looked glam and damn hot in songs. Character wise, she's limited and her expressions need to improvise. Kriti Kharbanda and Nadiya puts up simple show, while Rao Ramesh steals the attention as usual. Sampath is good as a villain in disguise, and Arul Vijayakumar made his presence felt. Brahmi is good but not the maximum. Other comedians like JP, Saptagari and Ali are good.

Three-minute-cameo of Megastar Chiranjeevi is what stuns everyone in the ends. Just with his simple dialogues, terrific body language and mind blowing screen presence, he stole the whole show. For a moment, the roof has come down with loud cheers.

Off-Screen:

Sreenu Vaitla tried to avoid his formula, but sometimes he has fallen in the groove unknowingly. He has cooked a simple story like again, but the characterisations are what impressive. He extracted maximum performance from hero, while failed to use certain other characters. However, there are certain unavoidable shades of Dookudu yet again. In all of his last four films, he got infatuated for police dress and somehow he's not coming off that cocoon.

Thaman is the major asset of the film, as his songs are impressive while background score elevated even simple scenes. He rocked the show when it comes to Megastar's cameo with his new 'Mega Star' anthem. Manoj Paramahamsa's camera work is awesome. Like in Racegurram, he impressed yet again.

Dances composed by Jaani, Shobi and Sekhar masters are good and they are asset for the film, while Ram-Laxman's fights are also impressive. Kona Venkat's dialogues are okay in parts, but they seem like a repetition.

The PLUSES:

Ram Charan's energy

Entertainment on a whole

Songs and dances

Megastar's cameo

The MINUSES:

Slow first half

Routine plot

BREAKDOWN:

Sreenu Vaitla is yet to come out of the khaki hang over, though this time his hero is not a police. As a duplicate police and stuntman Charan excelled but Vaitla has come up with a routine plot only. Though Kona and Gopi tried to dramatise things, somehow they didn't got some equations right.

Bang is the word when the film started, as Ram Charan makes a dashing entry on a bike as a police officer. However, film takes only simple turns and twists since then to make the journey going. Every character is introduced by the time we finish almost half an hour. As usual, the film tried to bank on comedy, this time hero himself jumping into the suit. On a whole, it looks like a mixture of all the masala, giving full kick to front benchers but boring multiplex guys a little. Songs at regular intervals are a big relief as Charan's dances and Rakul's glamour grabbed eye balls. A simple interval sets the things to big expectations.

Second half opens rather interestingly as some new twists are opened. As the story unfolds, there are too many complex connects, which take the graph down and then Sreenu banks on his regular formulaic stuff. Comedy scenes with Brahmi take the centre stage for a while, and other scenes look too forced. Though Charan brilliantly managed, director failed to hide some story-based flaws. As the film reaches pre-climax, Charan put up impressive performance in couple of scenes like emotional bonding with family and another 'aparichitudu' kind of show. What was hyped to be most costly climax hasn't lived up to it. But all the flaws are made to forget in a jiffy. How?

Yes, it's Megastar Chiranjeevi's cameo that saved the whole film. His 3-minute presence on silver screen, though sounding illogical for story-wise play, Chiranjeevi has just stunned with his looks and body language. His charm is unending and undoubtedly he's the best of all mega heroes. 'If people expect same routine entertainment from Ram Charan and Sreenu Vaitla, then "Bruce Lee" is best bet for audiences. Otherwise, this is another run of the mill flick offering popcorn entertainment. Only Chiru's cameo took it to heights. Collections depend on how B & C centre audiences receive this otherwise routine film.

Final words: Bruce Lee, the routine stunt master!!

RATING:2.75/5
