Nayanthara Anamika Review, Anamika Movie Review, Anamika Telugu Movie Review, Check out Shekar Kammula Nayanthara Anamika Review Rating and Public Talk

Story: The much awaited and hyped Shekhar Kammula’s Anamika is out.Yes! We heard him shoot from the roof tops that it is an adaptation of Vidya Balan’s Kahaani and NOT a remake of the movie. So it’s different. And we went and watched. To cut it short- Anamika is women-centric crime thriller which is close in line of Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani.Nayanathara as Anamika is an NRI who comes to Hyderabad in search of her husband Ajay Sastry (Harshavardhan Rane)who has gone missing - she tries to file a complaint in the local police station but is met with ridicule about her husband’s fidelity,-but she gets sympathy and help from Saradhi (Vaibhav)- the mystery deepens with a Terrorist element and she is also interrogated by an Anti Terrorist Squad Team headed by Pasupathy-The Home Minister played by Senior hero Naresh and a hard disk which contains vital information which becomes an important element and how Anamika unravels the mystery forms the crux of the story.

Analysis : Director Shekhar Kammula has adapted Kahaani adding a different twist like the terrorist warfare and a hard disk retrieval which becomes the core of the story .But with a twist to the tale where there is terrorist warfare, an anti terrorist squad and Mayanand Thakur who plays the sales agent, walking around with a gun & its silencer in his bag. It’s not Kahaani alone and it has its own twists and turns and for those who haven’t seen the original would definitely appreciate this crime thriller.

TeluguOne Perspective:

Performances : When it comes to performances, everybody in the movie have done well ,whether it is Nayanathara as the heroine, Naresh as the Home Minister, Pasupathy as the ATS chief, Vaibhav as the sympathetic inspector and the rest of the actors who have done well in the small roles , comic roles and single shot roles. The film rests on Nayanathara’s shoulders and she has performed well with her subtle expressions and it is a Nayanathara’s film all the way.

Technical Aspects : Editing by Marthand K Venkatesh is great when it comes to the second half, but could have been better in the first half. It’s a suspense thriller and the lighting has been low and adding to the feel of the movie which is set in the Hyderabad old city backdrop. Background music is good and there are some chilling moments where the camera work has been handled well.

Cinematography : Cinematography by Vijay C Kumar is very good and professional and the film has been deftly handled by him.

Direction :Shekhar Kammula manages to pull it off and has done a neat job, But there are certain gaps which still need to be addressed and this could leave the audience wondering about those missing links. Again for those who already seen Kahaani will watch it with a certain expectation and those who have not will go with the flow. It was a film that was asked to be made by the producers and he went ahead and worked on it with the screenplay support of Yendamoori Virendranath and Writer Sai Kumar and that’s about it.

Music : Keeravani’s background music is brilliant and adds value to the movie. Singer Sunitha’s song has already been appreciated and she has also dubbed for the heroine.

Plus Points :

Nayanathara is subdued and effective as Anamika. Her portrayal of contrasting emotions is good and a good choice for the bilingual which has been released in Tamil as well.

Vaibhav is good as the sympathetic police inspector who goes around helping her and endangers himself in the process.

Pasupathy and Naresh acted well as they are seasoned artists which go without saying.

Harshavardhan Rane’s role which is brief, has acted well in those moments where is required. The second half of this movie is very good.

Racy narration is really good with Yendamoori Veerendranath the master of thrillers helping in shape up for the thriller.

Cinematography and camera work showing the Old City in natural lighting is quite interesting.

Minus Points: It’s a movie meant for the multiplex audience and may not be appreciated by all. Very slow first half where you need to be patient to get to the first half. Keep your coke/corn supplies to help you through.

Some glitches in connectivity are there, so there might be those who-dunnit moments which get unraveled later. And watch till the end where the credits are rolled out also.

Conclusion : Some good films are not meant to be remade or rehashed, even if they are, a lot of effort in tweaking it into a good film should be made and not rely on the Cinematography, music and art work alone and of course not to forget the Heroine who talks with voice of a singer. But it’s a Shekhar Kammula film and we all want to watch a good film…

Rating : 2.35/5
