She has appeared in South indian films and Bollywood films, Genelia began her acting career with Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003. She married Bollywood film actor Ritesh Deshmukh on 3 february 2012. Ritesh is an son of the ex-chief minister of Maharastara, the late Vilasrao Deshmukh.
