The basic requirement of a good movie is its story. It's like a foundation for the flick. If the very foundation is weak, nothing can save the film from disaster. "Orange" too is of the same pattern as that of Sukumar directed "Aarya" in the past. The only difference is that, in "Aarya" hero's point of view is very convincing, whereas in "Orange" it lacked conviction. An youngster Ram (Ramcharan), who lives in Australia is acquainted with 'love' since the age of five. At that age itself, he falls in love with his teacher and there after loves eight others. He strongly believes that true love doesn't lasts forever, it exists for some time only and after that we just make others believe that we love them. When he comes to a conclusion that he is absolutely right, he happens to meet Jaanu (Genelia) and falls in love with her. Ram tells her about his opinion, but she insists that he should love her forever. He says it's not possible. What happens there after, is the rest of the story.
Analysis :
Movie's 'taking' is good. Screenplay is also okay, story alone is defective. There's no clarity in it and is a bit confusing also. These are the minus points for this movie. As a director, it's the first failure of Bommarillu Bhaskar. Just to convince at the end that his opinion about love isn't correct, there's no need to tell that hero fell in love with nine different persons. At the same time, making use of "Truth or Dare" game and gimmick of words by the hero to make his opinion look more convincing to others, also didn't click. This makes the film incomprehensible, like a graffiti in Greek & Latin, for the audience. Hero's action packed sky-diving too couldn't drive the nail home. Second half is a bit dragging than the first half of the film.Acting: It was thought that Ramcharan would get exempted from Rajamouli's 'evil' shadow. But this film has again proved that no hero can wriggle out that easily, once he comes under the blockbuster 'spell' of Rajamouli. Ramcharan has done his best as hero, but he should have taken more care towards his diction. Balancing is more important, when dialogues are to be delivered speedily. It would be of no use to tell that Ramcharan does dances and fights very well. People know very well from his previous two flicks, how good he is. Genelia did justice to her role. Bramhanandam's comedy didn't explode to the expectations. Vennela Kishore's too was a damp squib. In dialogues, comedy sparkled at some places. Prabhu, Manjula, Swaroop and others performed well within their scope
TeluguOne Perspective :
Music: Already "Orange" audio is a big hit in the market, no need to tell separately about it. Re-recording is also good.Cinematography: Very good. It excelled more in songs. Australian locations have been shown attractively.Dialogues: Good. Because of the feeble concept, dialogues couldn't impress much in the film.Lyrics: Audio is a hit, that itself proves that lyrics too are good.Editing: Good.Art: Nice.Choreography: Though the choreography in all the songs is not equally impressive, but pleasant to watch.Action: Not bad."For Ramcharan and to explore a new dimension in love, the movie can be watched once."
