Giant Tsunamis unleashed by a massive undersea earthquake in the distant Indonesian Island Sumatra lashed coastal Andhra Pradesh on Dec 26th killing several thousands people and affecting tens of thousands of them. Worst affected are the fishermen communities who generally reside along the coast.
Volunteers from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have swung into action and are providing the much-needed rescue and relief services to the victims. Emergency medical services including medicines, food packets, drinking water, clothes are being provided.
