Nuts and Dates Sweet Snack

Trust me, it's not so easy to have a healthy eater at home...bringing one up should be a miracle or destiny. Where they learn to say 'NO' from, is a dilemma!! We better think of feeding them attractive food but which is healthy, and that is not sold in the market, so make it!! Lets learn and discuss about a variety of such healthy treats for kids over the next few articles, everyMonday.

For the sweet treats we learn today, All we need are:

Almonds - 1 cup

Walnuts -1 cup

Pitted Dates – 5, 6

Black Raisins ( Kissmiss) - 1,2 cups

Just a dash of Cardamom Cinnamon,

Dry coconut flakes - 1/2 cup

if you think you can add more items then think of 2 tbsps Sunflower seeds and 1 tbsp Ground brown flaxseeds ( brown flax seeds dont have any strong flavor or smell).

Method:

Lets start....get the food processor ready and fill with almonds, walnuts, if you like add Sunflower seeds and Brown Flaxseeds. Finely chop these items in the processor now. Add pitted dates, black raisins as you like, a hint of green cardamom and cinnamon ( only if the child likes) and blend the contents until roughly mixed to make balls.

Make about 20-25 balls or squares and roll them in dry coconut flakes ( not every child likes coconut flavor, if you want you can add these flakes when blending to hide away.) Decorate each square or ball in cupcake liners or hook them to icecream sticks for an attractive look. And now, cross your fingers and hope to see your child love these treats!!
