On the invitation from the Canada Telugu Community, Sri Ravi Shankar, Managing Director, Sri Mallik, Chief Editor, a noted cartoonist and humor writer received a grand and warm welcome from the Canada Telugu Community on Wednesday, July 08 2008 at Anjappar Chettinad Banquet hall, Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

Surya Bezawada in his welcome address praised the efforts of Teluguone Management, and their staff for their continuous efforts to improve the content in Telugu language, learning opportunities for kids, family entertainment, current news, analysis and so on for the benefit of the world Telugu community through the net. He mentioned the Teluguone is a bridge between NRIs and Indian people. He thanked all the Telugu people who could greet Mallik, and Telugone team in short notice.

Madhusudhan Chigurapati introduced the distinguished guests to the audience. He shared very interesting information about the services of Mr. Ravi Shankar, and Mr. Mallik to the attendees.

Ravi shankar in his addresse thanked the Telugu community team who invited them to meet the Canada Telugu Community, also the great audience who attended in a big number within a short notice.

He explained why the idea of Telugone came into the reality. He shared the importance of Telugu language when people leave their native places. Also brought his New Delhi experiences when he was in non-Telugu communities, and the difficulties. His colleagues or neighbors used call the Telugus as Madarasies. There was no recognition or Identity for Telugu language spoken people when they leave Andhra Pradesh for studies, careers, businesses and so on. All this panic and uncertainties, he thought of having a informative portal for Telugu people, and discussed this idea with Mallik and Friends and launched the Teluguone portal 9 years ago. He mentioned that the response from the NRI community was great and with this encouragement Telugone is continuously growing in all the possible activities.

Mallik, in his address, thanked the Canada Telugu community for the invitation. Mallik was surprised to see more fans in Canada for his Cartoons as well as his humor related writings and jokes. He shared his experiences in United States about the power of KidsOne content, and within 2 hours children could learn 4 to 5 Telugu letters. He explained the importance of preserving Telugu Language, and culture for the future generations. He also shared his personal experiences when he left the bank job to build the Teluguone.com. Many of the family members, and friends criticized the decision of leaving the good bank job, to concentrate the new area of building the Teluguone portal. He is very happy that many of the NRIs outside India using Telugu one portal, and Kids are able to learn easily Telugu language using Kids one tools. Bose Vemuri, President, Telugu Cultural Association of Greater Toronto addressed the gathering. Thanked the Telugu one Team for giving the opportunity to honor them in Canada. He recognised the great efforts of Telugone team. He also mentioned that the Teluguone is connecting all the Telugu Associations outside India and bringing them together for the common interest of preserving our Telugu heritage and culture. He thanked the Surya Bezawada and his team for organizing this wonderful event which enabled the Telugu community to learn more about the Teluguone.com activities.

Mr. Ravi Shankar showed the clippings of the Teluguone activities on screen from his laptop. The quality of the content and sound was excellent. He also showed some of the Teluguone foundation activities, and explained how people are getting benefited from the foundation. He also requested the Telugus in Canada to use their services which are already proven great world wide. He also mentioned that he is planning to provide some discounts in subscriptions for the members Telugu Association North America (TANA), American Telugu Association (ATA), and Telugu Cultural Association of Greater Toronto(TCAGT) who are living in Canada.

All the Telugu people applauded the content and services of the Teluguone.com.

The meeting was followed by delicious and mouth watering South Indian fruit juices refreshments, dinner, and a wide range of ice-creams.
