DATA Celebrate Telangana Banquet & Cultural Night on a Grand Note

Dallas Area Telangana Association (DATA) hosted Telangana Cultural and Banquet Night on Saturday, September 15th at Colleyville Center, Colleyville TX on a grand note, with over 600 Dallas area NRIs attending the event. Colleyville center was decorated for the night with Telangana backdrop all over the center and main attraction being photo exhibition of Telangana’s ten district unique culture. Banquet started with Mohan Padigala welcoming the hall filled gathering and then inviting Mr. Sridhar Reddy, former AP sports council president, a staunch Telangana supporter on to the stage. Speaking on the occasion. Mr. Sridhar Reddy conveyed the importance of celebrating Sep17th as ‘Telangana Vimochan Dinotsavam’ to the attendees and said, he is honored to be with Dallas area Telanganites for the occasion.

 

 

DATA member Mr. Raghuveer Marripeddi explaining the DATA objectives, said DATA’s main purpose is to build a platform that can be shared by all Telanganites living in Dallas Fort Worth area to promote & protect Telangana culture and pass our own centuries old culture to the next generation.  Raghuveer went on to say DATA has been celebrating Telangana Vimochana Dinotsavam (Sep 17th) and Telangana Avishkarana Dinotsavam (Dec 9th) for the past 3 years, and tonight’s banquet night is a result of strong DATA team and huge support from Dallas/Ft worth Telangana community.  Raghuveer invited and introduced DATA Team Members,  Anil Boddu, Bhanu Chaudhury, Bhasker Garlapati, Harish Mandadi, Kiran K Chelamalla, Mahender Ganapuram, Mahesh Mereddy, Manohar Jangeti, Narsimha Mereddy, Narsimha Rao, Raghuveer Maripeddi, Rajesh Pillamari, Ram Kasarla, Shekar Brahmmadevara, Srinivas Reddy (Bike), Srinivas Damera, Srinivas Maram , Srinivas Surukunti ,Srinivas Thipanna, Sudhir Guda , Suresh Gottimukula, Vamshi Chamala, Venkateshwar Reddy Seri, Venu Annapureddy, Sridhar Devulapally to the attendees and appreciated the support of other prominent Dallas Area Telanganites.

 

 


Sudhir Guda presented about other main DATA objective of providing charity services in Telangana region and said the main reason for backwardness of Telangana is due to lack of education. Response from the audience was overwhelming, when Sudhir requested all the Telangana NRIs to come forward in supporting DATA’s charity services back home. Sudhir also said, DATA will be helping  kids of HIV/AIDS infected parents in providing education, food and nutrition recreation and counseling facilities, requested the guests/donors to get more information of the DATA charity services on the data website www.dataus.org.

 

 


Ram Kasarla introduced Abhinaya Krishna, Vamshi Priya & Padma Sri as MCs for the evening cultural programs. It was a scintillating cultural night with Telangana folk songs and dances performed by local Telanganites with a huge applaud from the attendees throughout the night. Over 72 participants performed to 14 different songs and dances.  Cultural program started with traditional Kuchipudi dance and follower by Telangana folk dances & then cine dances. The highlight of the evening was dominated by brilliant entertainment performances by children of all ages. Vamsi Priya famous folk singer entertained the audience with her melodies voice by singing famous Telangana folks songs. Ladies also danced to the popular festival songs from Telangana region (Bathukamma, Holi, and others) show casing our own Telanganga culture. Abhinaya Krishna performance was well received for the evening with his MC skills & mimicry dance performances from the famous Telugu actors.  Entire evening, Audience was glued to their seats by the performance of the local Telangana kid’s talent.
 


Banquet night ended with Vote of Thanks by Mahendar Ganapuram thanking presenting sponsors Akula & Associates, Yuva Café, Mayuri & Dream Home mortgage for their generous support for the event. Mahender also thanked remaining sponsors, donors, attendees, supporters, volunteers, media partners for making the event a grand success. Mayuri Indian restaurant served the delicious and authentic Telangana flavored dinner for the evening.
