NTR Jayanthi in Dallas

Dallas Telugu community celebrated the 90th birth anniversary of the legend Sri Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao in a very grand way with full of pomp and joy. NRI TDP wing of Dallas arranged this event under the guidance and leadership of Dr Raghavendra Prasad and Dr Navaneeta Krishna on May 27, 2012 at FunAsia Auditorium in Dallas.


The event started with a massive car rally from Thomas Jefferson park to the event venue, organized by Sudhir Chintamaneni, Lokesh Naidu, Venkat Saranu, Prasanth Chagarlamudi, Muralikrishna, Bhaskar Kodali, Venkat Boyapati, Prabhat Kasarneni, Manoj Potluri and other Telugu Yuvatha members of Dallas. As the car rally progressed through the streets of Dallas, the city reverbaretaed with TDP songs and the chanting of high energy slogans like "NTR Amar Rahe".

There were over 300 people from all walks of life that attended the event. KC Chekuri, NRI TDP incharge of Dallas and Ajay Govada, Chandrasekhar Reddy,Anil Veerapaneni, Srinivas Gogineni, Lakshman Kondapaneni and others welcomed the families, fans and the Car rally at the venue. The event started with commemorating the great leader NTR.  Dallas Telugu Adapaduchulu lighted the jyothis as a mark of commemorating the legend. Parents visiting from India garlanded NTR's photo and paid respects to the leader. A few Videos describing the life and achievements of the legend were screened at the venue.

Many speakers from the DFW community expressed their views. Sudheer Chintamaneni in his speech praised the character of NTR as a leader. Chandram Kotta explained how he and thousands of other students like him got benefitted due to NTR's policy of no-capitation fee. Kiran Tummala, Paruchuri Malli recalled the contribution of the great leader to the advancement of Andhra Pradesh. Kondayya Chowdary described how the backward classes of Anantapur, his home district still love NTR as their son of the soil. Many other speakers opined that the pride of Telugus as a whole was upheld by NTR and every Telugu person should feel proud for having him as our beloved Telugu muddubidda.

There was a sudden uproar in the auditorium when the attendees heard the voice of Nandamuri Balakrishna. He addressed the gathering through a live phone connection from India. He expressed his happiness that fans of NTR and TDP are striving to upkeep the legacy of the great leader in faraway lands like USA. He called upon all the TDP supporters to work towards strengthening the party and spreading its political ideology. There was a constant cheering from the audience all the time Balayya was speaking and mentioning the legend NTR's name.

 

Kesav Payyavula, TDP MLA, Pattipati Pullarao TDP MLA, Mannava Subbarao TDP General Secretary addressed the gathering and recalled their association with NTR and his contribution to the development of AP, his commitment for the welfare of the weaker sections and his love for Telugu language and culture.

Sugan Chagarlamudi and Koneru Srinivas delivered the thank you note to all the NTR Fans, TDP supporters, Telugu Yuvatha activists that arranged for the rally and decorated the event venue and the sponsors who made this event possible. The event ended with a delicious and sumptuous dinner.
