During his speech on the thanks-giving to Governor's address, the TDP leader slammed the Kiran Government for its failure on all sectors - law and order, agriculture, industrial promotion, farmers welfare, education, minorities and women welfare. He alleged that minister Parthasaradhi has sent e-mail to the concerned officials for Indiramma house allotments asking them to allot houses only to the persons recommended by the Congress leaders. He said that the minister is behaving as if the goverrnment is his 'jagir' and warned him that he would land in Chanchalguda jail shortly.
For this, minister Parthasaradhi retaliated severely and said that he didn't send any such e-mail and have done nothing against the laid down rules. He has allotted houses in the district (Krishna district, for which he is incharge minister) only to the eligible applicants who applied online and during Rachchabanda programs. He is ready to face any punishment, if it is proved that he has done any wrong. The minister said that it is the prerogative of the ruling party to allot the houses to the eligible in accordance with the guide lines of the government. They don't need opposition leader's guidance in doing so, said the minister. This infuriated the opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu and there was a lengthy war of words between the them.

Ministers DK Aruna and Ponnala Lakshmaiah announced the names in Hyderabad today after 3-hour long meeting with the Mahaboobnagar district congress leaders. The main opposition Telugu Desam Party, which had disrupted the House for three days demanding sacking of ministers involved in the liquor syndicates, today boycotted the Question Hour. The TRS members, who too had been stalling the proceedings for the past three days demanding a resolution on Telangana statehood, continued with their protest on Friday as well by storming the Speakers podium. Even after repeated appeals by the Legislative Affairs Minister D Sridhar Babu to let the House transact business, the TRS members didn't relent and continued to disrupt the proceedings.

Speaker Nadendla Manohar adjourned the proceedings for half-an-hour as the TRS legislators continued the din. Noisy scenes continued even after the House re-assembled an hour later. At this juncture, CPI and BJP legislators were on their feet at their respective positions and raised slogans seeking a resolution on Telangana. Amid the din, the Legislative Affairs Minister moved a motion for suspending the TRS members from the House for the day. The motion was carried through voice vote and marshals were called in to evict the suspended MLAs.

CPI floor leader G Mallesh protested the TRS MLAs suspension and lashed out at the Congress for failing to keep its word on creation of Telangana state. BJP floor leader Y Lakshminarayana accused the Congress of taking a U-turn after promising Telangana. Later the CPI and the BJP MLAs walked out of the House in protest. Over all, the Valentines Day passed off peacefully in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. No where 'Ram Sena' type incidents were reported. It was the heavy polkice bandobust that prevented the overzealous saffron brigade from going physical this year. The VHP claimed that three couples were married in Moinabad. The first of the lovebirds were caught at a park whereas the others were caught at a bus-stop near Swami Narayan Gurukul. Five couples who ventured to the Sanghi temple were forced to tie the knot there itself. Similarly, a couple were married at Amberpet.

The Bajrang Dal activists got into the act right from the word go in the morning. They divided themselves into eight batches of 35 members each and spread across the city. Dharnas were staged at the Paradise Circle, ECIL X Roads and Shamshabad X Roads. About 45 volunteers, consisting of eight state level leaders, were arrested by the police. Among those arrested were MN Singh, state joint secretary, VHP, Yemen Singh, state secretary, Bajrang Dal, Shyam, convenor Bajrang Dal, Hindinagar, Narender, co-convenor, Hindinagar and convenors Brahman and Brijanand, according to Bharat Vamshi, convener, Greater Hyderabad, Bajrang Dal.

The police, on the other hand, denied that the saffron brigade had a field day. Tarun Joshi, DCP, Central Zone said, We haven't had any complaints of harassment or any such thing in the central zone. We have our teams deployed at various educational institutions, gift stores, parks and other hang-out places on the Necklace Road like the Eat Street. Our groups have been patrolling the areas and no places have been shut down. No Bajrang Dal volunteers were arrested either.

Legislators of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) tore copies of Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan's address and threw the pieces at him. Security personnel surrounding Narasimhan had a tough time protecting him. Raising slogans of Jai Telangana, the TRS members tried to advance towards the governor and disrupt his speech. Amid pandemonium, the governor rushed through his address.The legislators of the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) also disrupted the governor's address, raising slogans against the government's failure to tackle problems of farmers and other sections of people.
