The Harbinger of Evil Designs
It is said one’s date of birth, the day and time do influence in the making of one’s destiny that continues governing his or her ups and downs in life, according to Hindu scriptures and mythology. But some take it as mere philosophical and in lighter vein. But what emphatically it is stressed here that as is one’s childhood he emerges from, so would be his mental frame he carries rest of the years of his life. If a child grows in the midst of cacophonous voices of their parents, beating each other with invectives and bouquets of abuses and vulgar language to address each other, one can imagine what future does a child hold for himself. His mind gets shattered with depression and bogged down with negative thoughts. Deprived of parental love, he emerges as a demon striking forcefully to avenge his insult he has had. Since a child is love-seeker, his void in the heart gets filled up with avengeful tendencies and hatred. Deprived of love and affection, his emotions turn into hatred. He begins to sulk under the insult his mother receives for herself. From there on he thinks to avenge his being neglected. He begins striking at every opportunity to harm others that comes his way. In other words, such a person usually extracts sadistic pleasures by inflicting mental torture and physical pain to others.
Salman Rushdie was born on 19 of June in 1947 in a dingy house of Bombay. It is reliably learnt that Salman grew up in a broken family whose members were baying for each others blood. As his family disintegrated, his future hung in balance. With cantankerous atmosphere at home and love and affection being lost, no one patted his back to substitute parental love. Rebelion began to grow in him. His God gift of intellect turned into perverse wisdom. Perhaps due ot this reason, he starting drawing sadistic pleasures by marrying one woman after other. The sacred institution of marriage is being misused as means of debauchery and brutal sexual satisfaction. Officially Rushdie married four women, one after another only to give vent to his lustful promiscuity. Of his first wife, little is known but she too got his boot when he showed her the door osculating a divorce kiss in 1987. In 1988, he married another young lady, Marianne Wigge, an American novelist herself but she too could not keep pace with Rushdie’s hordes of bed room ethics and was subsequently divorced in 1993. His third wife Elizabeth came into his life in 1997 and she was divorced in 2004 as word went around that age had began to tell on her. Then came a young girl from Hindu community who was half of Rushdie’s age. In addition to this, his extra-marital practices are regretfully not on record.

He produced many books. He chooses to stir up harnest’s nest no matter if the fame comes from trampling the sentiments of any community. From Midnight Children to Satanic Verses he trekked a bumpy road where he was about to get a brush with life when the Iranian Premier issued a fatwa to assasinate him wherever he was seen. The shadow of death was hovering over his head. The British governmet offered him not only asylem but it offered Z security to proctect his life. One question lurks in our minds that if an insane and intoxicated person grabs and gets possession of AK 47 and in his madness he goes on killing hundreds of people for no apparent mistake on their part, could any law of the land of any country grants him asylem and pardons him on basis that the killer shooter was intoxicated and he is set free without being put under trial. All will say he must be hung unto death. Similarly if FM Hussain is sent out of the country because he was reported to have cast disrespect to the Hindu dieties. FM Hussain if intentionally had touched the sentiments of Hindu community people, his being driven out of country finds little justification. Why Salman Rushdie be granted exemption from any punishment when he uses blasphemy to malign Muslim community, targetting the religious sacred book the holy Quran and the finding fault with quotes of prophet Muhammad?
