First woman cab driver found dead

In a shocking incident in Bangalore, one of the first women cab drivers in the city, Bharathi Veerath, 39, was found dead in her house. Neighbours, who got suspicious after finding her cab parked in front of the house for a long time, knocked on her door and found Bharathi hanging from the ceiling fan of her third-floor house. Bharathi hailed from Warangal, Telangana. She joined Angel City Cabs, an all-woman cab service, after getting driving training from an NGO. She was earlier working as a tailor for a living. She later joined Uber cab service in 2014. She also managed to raise a loan to buy her own Sedan. There was no suicide note found in the house, but police say she had informed her employers that she will be leaving the job shortly and will be moving back to Warangal soon.
