Even the Indian government had to step in to ask whatsapp for some restraining measures. Heeding to such pleas... Whatsapp has now installed a feature to check the forwarded messages. From here on, Whatsapp will label such messages as `forwarded’. “This could serve as an important signal for recipients to think twice before forwarding messages because it lets a user know if content they received was written by the person they know or a potential rumour from someone else,” said Whatsapp in its statement. Hope that this would enable people to gather some time to check whether the message was original or fake.
