What is Governor doing at New Delhi?

Governor Narasimhan’s hectic meetings with Congress and UPA government’s top brass at New Delhi led to speculations in media. While a section of media reports that he is briefing the Center about the prevailing situation of the state, another writes he has advised not to divide the state and also reported about CM Kiran Kumar Reddy’s anti party activities and his plans to launch new political party. Some other writes that he insisted the government to transfer him to some other state as he fears law and order break down after the T-draft hits the state Assembly.

However, the governor as usually came-up with his stock reply to media stating that it was just courtesy meetings with all the top brass as he came to New Delhi after a long time. But, the Governor being head of the state is expected to brief the Center about the prevailing situation of the state, administrative and other aspects that need to be taken into consideration while dividing the state, suggestions on how to handle the situation once bifurcation process begins in state. Hence, his meetings should be seen as preparation for initiating bifurcation process in the state and nothing else. His meetings with all the members of GoM clearly indicates the same.
