The Lazy Thyroid – Hypothyroidism

Hypothyroidism is a medical condition wherein thyroid gland is producing inadequate hormones. As we know thyroid hormones affect our body temperature, the way our heart beats and how well we burn calories. In this condition our metabolism is sluggish and there by the energy production in our body unit is slowed down.

The most common cause id thyroiditis which is the inflammation of thyroid gland, of which the autoimmune disorder of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is the main culprit, nevertheless some viral infections too contribute.
