Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Mr Rajagopal called on all political parties to come together and pass a resolution that there would be no more division of states after Telangana if it is created. He said, "all political parties should join hands and pass a constitutional resolution stating that there would not be any more division of states after Telangana, if at all it is created."

He also opined that a solution has been arrived at on the vexed issue even as he declared that he would go by the orders of the party high command on the issue. He said, "My opinion is that a solution has been arrived at on the issue of Telangana. And I will go by any decision taken by the party leadership."

Even as he condoled the death of Yadi Reddy who allegedly committed suicide over the statehood issue, Mr Rajagopal launched a broadside against the TRS chief, Mr K. Chandrasekar Rao, saying that he was enacting a drama to get the Chief Minister's chair. Attacking Mr Rao for his remark that he would commit suicide over Telangana, the Vijawada MP said, "He is enacting a drama just for the CM's chair."
