Telangana Political Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) is observing 'Telangana Atma Gourava Dinotsavam' (Self Respect Day) on Friday, 9 Dember 2011. This move by the TPJAC comes in the wake of completion of two years since central government's announcement that process would be started for formation of a separate Telangana State.
Addressing media persons yesterday after JAC's Steering Committee meeting held at TNGO Bhavan, TP-JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram announced that the JAC has decided to observe Dec 9 (Friday) as 'Telangana Atma Gauravam Day' and Dec 23 as 'Betrayers Day' for reversing decision on the statehood.
As part of 'Telangana Atma Gauram Day', prof. Kodandaram and JAC leaders hoisted Telangana flag at Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park on Friday morning. Recalling the services of those who laid down their lives for the cause of statehood, Kodandaram said that the agitation for separate Telangana is still alive and will continue till Telangana is achieved. He called all the T-protagonists to come to Gun Park in the evening today, where 'Telangana Jagaran' will be observed. He also called upon JAC leaders and employees to observe 'Atma Gauram Day' across the Telangana region.
