State, Centre Gearing up to Resolve T-issue

Sources have confirmed that the AP affairs incharge, Ghulam Nabi Azad has invited both Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC chief Botsa Satyanaryana, to Delhi for consultations on the key issues after September 25.

Mr Azad, who has completed consultations with Congress leaders of Telangana and Seemandhra, is expected to submit his report soon. Sources said Mr Azad is expected to submit his report on the Congress' stand on bifurcation issue by the month end. The Congress central leadership has reportedly decided to address all key issues concerning the state, including the Telangana issue.

It is also said, the Congress central leadership in its latest Core Committee meeting, reviewed the ongoing 'Sakala Janula Samme' strike on Telangana and conveyed to Mr Azad that he should present his report on the consultations he has had with all groups in Congress. It seems likely that the central Congress leadership will announce its decision on Telangana in October.

The Chief Minister will also discuss with Mr Azad the total revamp of the state Cabinet and appointments to important public sector undertakings and institutions. Two berths in the state Cabinet for erstwhile Praja Rajyam legislators and the post of the government whip have to be finalised. The Chief Minister has insisted on a personal meeting with the Congress president to discuss the proposals. Mr Reddy has sent word to 10, Janpath for an appointment with Mrs Gandhi whenever she resumes meeting leaders, it is said.
