Mylavaram TDP MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao alleged that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy paid Rs 20 crore to each MLA who tendered his resignation. As many as 26 MLAs submitted their resignations protesting against mentioning of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy in the FIR filed by the CBI as part of its probe into assets of his son Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking to newsmen here, Umamaheswara Rao said Jagan amassed a huge wealth through corrupt means when his father was the chief minister. The illegally earned money was used to buy these MLAs as part of the game plan to destabilise the Congress government in the state. "It is not the first time that YSR's name has figured in FIRs. In all, 21 cases were filed against YSR between 1989 and 2004," said TDP MLA.
