An App to snoop into Indian Army

It looks like an App which boasts of letting its users text, make HD-quality phone call, and send photo and video messages worldwide. But once the App enters your smart phone or computer, it could gain access to every personal detail you’ve stored in your device. Named as SMESH App, this app was found to be culprit for passing on the personal information of its user to a third party. The information collected by the app was reportedly stored on a server in Germany and is accessed in Pakistan.

Security agencies fear that it was through this App, that the key information regarding the Pathankot airbase was revealed to the ISI. This free App is now removed by the Google from its play store. With ISI using such trends and techniques to gain a hand on the Indian defense system, Army authorities too were issuing fresh guidelines to their soldiers. According to the recent guidelines, the soldiers were allowed to open a WhatsApp account without disclosing their profession. Sharing of official information through social media was also prohibited. What would ISI do next!
