Six killed in Bus-fire accident

A private travels bus owned by NPR Travels that is bound for Bangalore caught fire after it is over turned near Metikurthi village in Karnataka yesterday mid night. Six passengers charred to death in the flames and four others condition is said to be very critical.

Twelve passengers who managed to escape death narrowly are also sustains severe burns but not serious comparatively. The bus started from Dawanagere in the evening and is bound for Bangalore. The passengers, who are in deep-sleep woke up only to find themselves in an overturned bus that is engulfed by flames. Few lucky passengers, who managed to narrow escape from death, are still in deep shock with the horrible experience. All the injured were shifted to nearby hospital in Chitradurga by the police.

Forty two passengers were charred to death in similar bus-fire accident that happens few months ago near Palem in Mehboob Nagar district, yet the current incident proves that no lessons were learnt from the past. The gross ignorance and negligence by the travel operators, transport officials and governments, is the main reason for this kind of accidents than the technical and human faults. Would all the concerned have done their part of duties correctly, innocent people won’t need to kill themselves in these death traps called super luxury buses.
