All services in the government domain remained affected, even as more affiliates of the Telangana political JAC decided to join the ongoing 'Sakala Janula Samme' in phases over the next few days.

As per the latest schedule, private school managements in Telangana will shut down schools on Sept 16 and 17, followed by APSRTC strike on Sept 18 midnight. On September 19, employees from the power sector and Secretariat have threatened to take a direct plunge into the strike, followed by GHMC staff that too is eager to quit work for an indefinite period. However, in view of the banking examinations on Sunday, the siege to the national highways in the state has been postponed to September 19.

With 1.75 lakh government teachers, 11,000 private schools and employees from energy sector, APSRTC, GHMC and Secretariat deciding to strike work, the shut down is certain to leave behind a trail of economic destruction not only in 10 districts of Telangana region, but the entire state. Preliminary estimates by the state government have put the average revenue losses at between Rs 900 and Rs 1,100 crore for the last three days. T-stir may hit industries and farmers hard.
