OBAMA in CUBA

`Just touched down here, looking forward to meeting and hearing directly from the Cuban people,’ was the tweet made by Obama as he landed in Cuba for a 48 hour visit. Cuba and America might be just 90 miles away from each other, but it took almost 90 years for a US president to visit Cuba. After the communist revolution in Cuba way back in 1959, both countries were been hostile towards each other. Fidel Castro, the leader of Cuban revolution was a die hard critic regarding US.

But as the 89 year old icon gave away the throne to his brother Raul Castro, things began to soften a bit. Last year, US has even reopened its embassy in Cuba after decades of its closure. Obama in his latest visit is expected to rebuild the diplomatic relations between two nations. Apart from meeting with the president Raul Castro, Obama has a busy schedule ahead. He is going to meet the US and Cuban entrepreneurs; deliver a speech to the nation and would even attend a football match. However, he is not going to meet Fidel Castro!
