No plans to open US Consulate in AP: US

The US Consulate General Hyderabad office responding to the media reports has issued a clarification on Wednesday. It has stated that there are no proposals under consideration to open US Consulate office in the proposed capital city at Vijayawada in the AP state. Recently, the US delegation had met the AP CM Chandrababu Naidu during its visit to Hyderabad. Then, he appealed them to consider opening the US Consulate office in the proposed capital city. But, a section of media reports that the US delegation has agreed to considered his request. So, the US Consulate office has issued a clarification to clear the communication gap.

However, if the CM Chandrababu Naidu could develop a world class capital city in Vijayawada and attract the foreign companies to open their businesses in the state, then the US Consulate also may think about his proposal. Chandrababu Naidu is reported to be trying to have a meeting with US president Barack Obama, who is coming to India on January 26th to attend the Republic Day function to be held at New Delhi as the Chief Guest. He wants to seek US help to develop the state. US has already agreed to help the state in developing Vizag into a smart city.
