Modi pays tribute to PV Narasimha Rao

On the occasion of the 95th birth anniversary of India's ex-Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid rich tributes to him. PM Modi took to his twitter account to pay tribute, he tweeted, "Tributes to PV Narasimha Rao on his birth anniversary. He led India at a crucial time and his leadership was both notable and vital". Narasimha Rao was born on June 28, 1921 at Karimnagar in Telangana and served as the Prime Minister of India from June 21, 1991 to May 16, 1996.

Congress seems to have disowned its own leader off late. Recently at the release of the book on the former PM, Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar said, Narasimha Rao's "pro-Hindu mindset" encouraged the destruction of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya. while another congress leader, Natwar Singh described the December 6, 1992 demolition as "the biggest failure" of Narasimha Rao.
