Jaya Lalitha new demand to UPA

The Sri Lankan Tamil people’s issue has always proved to be very heavy for UPA government. DMK has snapped ties with Congress led UPA Government for failing to bring in stringent amendments to the US-moved resolution against Sri Lanka before the UNHRC at Geneva.

After losing DMK, when Congress party tried to align with the ruling AIADMK party led by CM Jaya Lalitha, but, once again it had a punch in its face for the same reasons.

Her government has moved a resolution in the state Assembly, demanding that UPA government for a complete boycott of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to be held in Sri Lanka next month. Jaya Lilitha government also demands the UPA to insist suspension of Lankan Government from CHOGM until it provides equal rights to Tamil people. Hence, it was like closing doors on UPA face if it fails to oblige Jaya Lalitha’s demands. Further, her party is participating in Chintan Shivir to be held at Rajgir between October 28-29” where non-congress and non-BJP parties will join heads in an attempt to for 3rd Front.

So, Congress has to return to DMK begging for poll alliance in the 2014 elections.
