CBI Filed Chargesheet Against Jagan Mohan Reddy

Finally the CBI on Saturday filed chargesheet against the Kadapa MP and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in his illegal assets case. The 68-page chargesheet names Jagan as the prime accused and names 12 others including top IAS officers and politicians.

The CBI had filed a case in 2011 against the former chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy's son on the charges amassing wealth disproportionate to his known source of income following a directive by the High Court. The court's directives came after State Handlooms and Textile Minister P Shankar Rao, three members of main opposition TDP, and a Kadapa-based lawyer had filed a petition in the court seeking a CBI inquiry into the companies that had invested in Jagan's businesses to allegedly win favours in the form of land allotments and mining leases from the then government led by Jagan's father.
