Is Modi Charisma fading away?

Maharashtra and Haryana states Assembly elections will be held on October 15th. Hence, hardly one month time is left for NDA and UPA alliances to face the elections. In this context, the latest verdict of by-elections conducted for 33 Assembly and 3 Loksabha seats, leaves the ruling NDA disgruntled and boost the spirits of beleaguered Congress party. BJP lost 13 of its sitting MLA seats to Congress and Samajwadi parties in these by-elections. Congress party which has been desperately trying put its leg back into Gujarat and Rajasthan is succeeded in its efforts with these by-elections. It clinches 13 seats from BJP in these two states.

Congress and Samajwadi parties describe this development as Modi’s fading charisma and vote against BJP’s communal politics. Naturally, BJP rubbishes their arguments. It believes different local factors in the constituencies have played spoilsport in BJP’s victory, otherwise it could make a clean sweep in these by-elections also.

BJP reasoning may be justified but if seen overall can’t be justified, because, the same local factors and issues were there when it made a clean sweep in the general elections. So, although it rubbishes the opposition parties arguments and claims, it is time for it to wake up and do something, otherwise it will be too late to do anything.
