Simultaneously, the state government also formed Resource Mobilization Committee (RMC) lead by MP Sujana Chowdary. RMC was asked to raise funds of Rs.25,000 crores before end of this month. The committee has suggested various options to the state government for generating additional revenue for this purpose. The committee identifies revenue sources like selling Red Sandal wood through global auction, levying cess on Liquor, sand mining and granting of irrigation projects etc. It also suggests the government to mortgage its properties with Bankers guarantying for repayment of the loans. The state government is expecting to raise at least Rs. 20-25,000 crores through these sources in the next couple of months.
