Janardhan Reddy and his brother in law Srinivasa Reddy were arrested on charges of illegal mining through their Obulapuram Mining Company.

After medical examinations of the accused at CBI headquarters, Sultan Bazar, the accused duo were taken to Nampally criminal courts. The court remanded them to 14 days judicial custody till 19 September and were moved to Chanchalguda jail thereafter.

The Reddys also moved their bail application before the court, which the court has posted for arguements on 7th of this month. Janardhan Reddy's advocate contended that it was irregular on part of the CBI to raid Janardhan Reddy's premises without giving him proper notice, as his name was nowhere mentioned in the FIR. The FIR has been filed against Obulapuram Mining Company and Janardhan Reddy has got nothing to do with the day to day running of the company.
