Elections that decides fate of the Prime candidate

Elections in five states of Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Rajasthan and Mizoram are considered as semifinals ahead of 2014 general elections. Hence, the battle is severe and the main players are Congress and BJP.

While, the Congress is desperately trying to grab the three states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh from BJP hand, BJP while trying to retain the three, is leaving no stone left unturned to grab Delhi from Congress hand. It appears BJP left Mizoram to Congress party as it has no strength in that state.

According survey reports, BJP is likely to lose Rajasthan but able to retain power in Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh states. However, there is mixed reports over which party will win the Delhi, because of the presence of a 3rd player Aam Admi.

These elections are like an acid test for the Prime Minister candidates Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi. The merits of these elections are definitely going to spread their influence on their political future. If, BJP could retain all its three states and also win Delhi, then it will be another bad remark in Rahul’s progress sheet.

Even after winning Rajasthan, if he loses Delhi to BJP or Aam Admi, then also his ranking will not improve. If, he could retain Delhi and also win Rajasthan besides Mizoram, then definitely Modi has to re-look at his performance.

Hence, it is understood that Delhi is pivotal in these elections. Polling for Delhi Assembly will be held on December 4th and results will be declared on 8th that is hardly four months ahead of 2014 general elections.
