CPI (M) states its stance

 

 

 

The Communist Party of India ( Marxist) state secretary and former MP ,Mr Thammineni Veerabhadram has declared that the party would contest in all the Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in the region of Telangana in the forth coming elections. Speaking in Nayakangudem in Kusumanchi mandal yesterday after being unanimously elected as the first secretary of the party’s Telangana State committee he reiterated that the Party’s stance was open to forge alliances with anyone who was anti Congress and anti BJP and that if there is an alliance the number of seats the Party intends to contest will go down and if there is no alliance the number may increase. This was also ratified previously by the CPI(M) Polit Bureau member B V Raghavulu.

 

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has formed two separate committees for the two states after the AP State Reorganisation Bill was passed. The Telangana state committee of the Party has been formed with 42 members and the Andhra Pradesh state committee of the Party with 44 members and Thammineni Veerabhadram has been elected as the CPI(M) Telangana state secretary with S Veeraiah, S Malla Reddy, G Nagaiah, Ch Seetharamulu and Chukka Ramulu as state secretariat members. It may be noted that  Penumalli Madhu has been elected as the CPI(M) Andhra Pradesh state secretary with P Ramulu, M A Gafoor, S Punyavati, V Krishnaiah, Y Venkateshwara Rao, Ch Narsingha Rao and Midiyam Babu Rao as state secretariat members. The Party intends to contest from 6 Lok Sabha and 33 assembly constituencies in the integrated state of Andhra Pradesh.
