AP alarmed with reports on Special Status

 

People and political parties of AP and also the AP government turned panic after hearing the news reports about union minister for Planning Indrajit Singh stating AP is not entitled to get special status. The next moment this news hits the state, sharp reactions begins in the state. Political parties condemn the union minister’s statement and start demanding NDA government to immediately respond on this issue.

 

AP social welfare Minister Ravella Kishore has stated that there are several factors like lack of capital, lack of infrastructure to run the government, huge deficit budget etc. that entitle the state to have special status.

 

Therefore, NDA government also swiftly reacted to pacify the people and state government. Planning Commission officials have stated that no decision was taken on granting special status to AP. Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu, who is currently at Vizag, said there is no need to become panic with the reports. He assured that NDA government will leave no stone left unturned to accord special status to AP. He said it is just a matter of time and so appealed the people and political parties not to be panic over this issue. He said that being from AP he will do his best to get special status to the state and also all possible help to Andhra and Telangana states. He said both states should think about development setting aside their differences.
