The Delhi police have granted permission to Team Anna members to hold protest at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan for five days starting from 27 December in support of Anna Hazare who will go on fast in Mumbai.
Delhi Police had on December eight sought more details, including the expected gathering and names of VVIPs attending, from Team Anna to give permission for its Ramlila Maidan agitation from December 27 for a strong Lokpal. Now the permission has been granted, with a provision to extend, after Team Anna provided clarifications sought by the police. Police has asked Team Anna to provide the schedule and nature of the programme on day-to-day basis besides expected gathering on the function at Ramlila Ground from December 27, 2011 to January 5, 2012.
Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the High Court rejected Team anna's plea and asked them to pay rent for MMRDA Grounds, where Anna wants to sit on fast. The Court also asked Anna, why he wants to sit on fast in Mumbai when permission has been granted to hold protest at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi. A defiant Anna announced that he would fast in jail, if permission is not given to him to sit on fast at MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai.
