Admiral R K Dhowan India’s New Naval Chief

 

 

 

Admiral Rabinder Kumar Dhowan, has been appointed the new Navy chief of the Indian maritime force on Thursday. Fifty days after Admiral D K Joshi resigned because of moral responsibility due to the submarine mishaps that took the lives of sailors , the Government of India after a prolonged delay appointed Admiral Dhowan as the new chief. Commissioned in January 1975 ,he will be India’s 22nd Navy Chief and has to steer 145 warships, which includes 50 major combatants and 14 submarines, apart from aircraft, helicopters and spy drones.
