Yanam Violence: Employees Sit on Relay Hunger Strike

The striking employees of Regency Ceramics factory in Yanam, a part of Puducherry UT in East Godawari district of AP, have started relay hunger strike demanding  reinstation of the sacked employees.

The situation in Yanam still continues to be tense. However, on request of Puducherry government, AP police contingents have been pressed into service to contain the striking employees. Slowly the police is getting grip over the situation. So far 16 persons are reportedly ijured in the police firing. The injured have been administered First Aid at Yanam Hospital and later moved to Govt. hospital at Kakinada. Out of 16, condition of 13 persons is said to be critical.
